I cannot forget Krishna Kumar and his wife who fell down while using the toilet. Mr Krishna Kumar was from a village in Punjab where they used to go out in the open for relieving themselves in the early morning. She did not know using the modern toilet in the High Commission quarters we lived. There was bleeding and she was hospitalized. Since my blood group was suitable to her I donated blood and I wrote a poem on donating blood while the sisters supervised us. We stayed in Islamabad until our daughter was two years old and our son 4 years. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the prime minister of Pakistan. It was at this time that the Tashkent agreement was signed and Lal Bahadur Shastri who was the prime minister at that time passed away in Tashkent. The Tashkent agreement brought peaceful conditions and we could cross over back to India to Delhi, where my brother was working in the Ministry of External Affairs.
